Beijing International Traffic Engineering Exhibition Participation and Factory Tour

On May 26, 2024, Susan, the vice president of Sunny Worldwide Logistics, along with Spanish translator Lucas, accompanied Mexican purchasers Carlos and Lois on a six-day in-depth inspection. The first two days were spent visiting the factory in Hebei Province, and the following four days were dedicated to attending the Beijing Traffic Engineering Exhibition. This not only comprehensively showcased the strength of China's manufacturing industry from raw material production to terminal application, but also provided continuous follow-up services after the exhibition, assisting the clients in completing the cross-border transportation of samples and in-depth communication with suppliers, thus offering full-process business cooperation services.

On the morning of May 27th, the G54 high-speed train carried the team to Hebei. As the train ran smoothly at 305 km/h, Carlos pointed out of the window at the aluminum guardrail and said, "This is the material we are looking for!" After arriving at the factory, what they saw with their own eyes deepened the clients' understanding - the 12-meter-high aluminum facade of the factory's main entrance was as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the visitors' expressions of amazement.

In the workshop, 930℃ molten aluminium is pressed into 2-6mm plates by a six-roll cold rolling mill. The mechanical arm neatly stacks the finished aluminium coils. An engineer picks up a 3mm sample and says, "This specification of aluminium plate is used to make highway guardrail brackets. It is 40% lighter than steel, but its tensile strength reaches 270MPa." In the salt spray laboratory, a 4000-hour corrosion test is underway. Lois raises her mobile phone to take a photo and says, "The salt spray corrosion problem of the coastal highway in Mexico has finally found a solution."

On May 29th at the Beijing exhibition, the road safety equipment area in Hall E3 was bustling with activity. At a certain booth, hot melt marking machines and detachable crash barriers attracted the interest of many customers. The supplier demonstrated on the spot that the detachable buckle structure could be disassembled with just a wrench, allowing Lois to personally experience the assembly process. "This system is particularly suitable for our hurricane-prone Cancun area," he said while taking notes and requesting to see the seismic test report. During the three-day exhibition, 23 manufacturers were connected, and 37 technical documents were collected, including data on the working conditions of road milling machines and reports on the retroreflective coefficient of reflective films.

On the final day of the exhibition, the team systematically organized the results: 32 product brochures were classified and archived, and product parameters were made into bilingual comparison tables. When discussing the connection parts of a certain product, the team retrieved the factory inspection video and verified the reliability of the process on the spot.

1. Sample transportation: 28 pieces of samples with a total weight of 45kg (including aluminum plate slices, reflective stickers, and guardrail components) will be dispatched in three batches. Precision components will be vacuum-packed to prevent moisture and transported via DHL's priority channel, arriving in Mexico City within 7 days.

2. Supplier coordination: Establish dedicated communication groups for 5 core suppliers, coordinate video conferences considering the time difference between China and Mexico, and focus on resolving issues such as the thickness standard of the guardrail's galvanized layer and customization of the Spanish interface for the marking machine.

3. Optimization of logistics plan: Based on the volume of the samples, it is recommended to use consolidated shipping for the first order. A comparison table of shipping schedules between Shanghai Port and Manzanillo Port will be provided, which is expected to reduce freight costs by 35%.

On the way back, the two clients' suitcases were filled with engineering computers, reflective films for exhibitions and other samples, as well as product technical materials. Carlos carried a sample box covered with labels and said, "These physical items will enable the technical team in Mexico to conduct multi-dimensional tests simultaneously." This inspection that spanned from raw materials to terminal applications has laid a solid foundation of trust for subsequent cooperation.
